Hallelujah, its a new year! Welcome 2023
This year has been the 3rd year in a row that has been a blur of change, financial stress and broken dreams and broken relationships that have rocked our world both personally and, in our communities, collectively. Those of you who know me well, know I’m a natural optimist and usually can find the silver lining but it’s got harder for sure. Even my deep-seated Christian belief that ‘All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28, has been shaken to its core at times!
However, Philippians 3:13-14 reminds me to keep pressing forward . – “Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press towards the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
2022 is gone and will never return. It is time to continue moving forward with confidence and assurance in Christ Jesus, for there is a prize to be won, by looking forward unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.
Today is the day to forget all those past hurts, pains, failures, disappointments, rejection, lies that were told on you, and all those bad past experiences of 2022.
What is in your past that God is calling you away from, that you need to let go off, for you to move forward into that place that God has destined for you to be?
Let’s purpose in our hearts and minds that 2022 and the past in general, will not be our focus in 2023.
The life of a new creation in Christ Jesus cannot be lived by looking back, but by pressing forward to the goal of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Forgetting the past and reaching toward the future, with Christ in view……. that should be on our horizon.
God bless you as you journey into 2023.
