Reading Through The Bible: Number 14

Genesis chapter 3 unfolds the story of Satan’s temptation of our first parents and their subsequent fall away from loyalty to God. Basically his ploy was to place them in a position where they came to DISTRUST GOD’S LOVE AND DOUBT HIS WISDOM.
All the temptations that come to us today follow this same pattern. When we trust God’s love and accept that His wisdom is superior to ours, we naturally seek out His wisdom and walk in the way He directs us. Allow me to repeat that central thought: Those who truly follow God and are counted by Him as “righteous” are those who truly trust His love and wisdom.
Satan causes people to believe today, just he did in Eden, that they will gain some great freedom by disobeying God’s commandments. Many laugh at the narrowness of those who maintain a trusting obedience to God through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, while believing that they have an “open mind” and the ability to follow their own wisdom.
Here’s some very deep and sound theology for your consideration today: “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey!”
Have a great day!
