Reading Through The Bible: Number 24
Genesis chapter 6 continues the sad story of man’s decline from the noble Adam, made in the image of God, to the place where men had become so evil and violent that the Lord declared that He was sorry that He had made men to populate the earth. Verses 5 & 6 tell us: “… God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. ”
Amazingly, amongst the rottenness of humanity, He found a man called Noah who: “found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” Unlike those around him, “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.”
It is very apparent that many today have left the presence of the Lord, and evil continually fills their minds! Violence, greed, deception and dishonesty are fast becoming the norm in Australia, but praise God that even in our age I see some good men and women who fearlessly call sin by its right name and live lives that are a testimony to the work of God in the lives of men and women.
Sadly they are not amongst the leaders of our governments! But still God has them scattered amongst the population to give hope and encouragement to those who are searching for a connection with Him.

Come to think of it YOU could be one of those special people if you make it your purpose to draw into the presence of God through His Holy word today and live to be a blessing to those around you through simple acts of kindness! Have a great day!
