Reading Through The Bible: Number 28
https://www.ktravula.com/2023/02/v6gwo4x The question comes to me this morning as I re-read Genesis chapter 7: “What does it take to awaken people from a sin-induced sense of ‘She’ll be right mate!”? As the final days of the earth-that-was passed by, life continued as it always did. People were eating, drinking, children were being born, growing and learning new skills and being loved by their parents – same old, same old, one might say! Sure there were problems with violence and fights between the many wives the neighbour had taken. But basically, life was OK.
https://eostone.com/xnn6ezb0whttps://lhyme.com/f2tcwoy7eiw Can I imagine the thoughts of one of those who didn’t prepare to heed God’s warning? “There’s that old Noah again! Still predicting doom and gloom – someone said he’s been preaching this end-of-the-world-stuff for over a hundred years now!! Crazy fella! I wonder what makes people go all religious and weird like that? Strange though that all those animals have come and lined up to get on board his ark! I wonder how that happened? Oh well, there’s plenty of smarter people than me to sound the alarm if there really is going to be a flood, so back to the business of living!”

“Water has never fallen from the before” I can hear them saying, “and it’s not going to start now!” And they were right … for seven days anyway! But at that time probation closed on eternity for those who were so sure that “She’ll be right!”
https://eostone.com/0iryjwppdcw Scoffers still scoff in 2016, but the word of the Lord is sure when it says: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” (2 Peter 3:10)
Patiently the Creator waits and lovingly woos His wayward children as time again slips away. His offer is still open but someday soon probation will close again. It is so sad that many have never seen a living example of a sinner transformed by grace into someone who acts toward them as Jesus would have. I think that’s our marching orders for today! Help us to love like You do Lord Jesus!
