Reading Through The Bible: Number 30
God does nothing by halves! When He washed the world He did a very thorough job of it!
Ambien Sale Online As I begin to read Genesis chapter 8 I am reminded of something which receives very little attention by Bible readers. If you compare Genesis 7:11 with Genesis 8:14 you will discover that the length of time that Noah and his family spent on board the ark was much longer than commonly thought. In fact, it was just over ONE YEAR from the time that the waters first prevailed on the earth and Noah went into the ark, until the time that the ark was opened and he was told by God to leave the ark and begin a new life in a new world!
The record says that the flood came upon the world on the 17th day of the 2nd month of the 600th year of Noah’s life and that it was on the 27th day of the 2nd month in his 601st year that he went out of the ark.
https://madfilm.org/x3q9vn0key Why so long? When you think of it, there would have been a need for a lot of natural restoration to take place after such a cataclysmic event, and for sufficient vegetation to be established to support life for all the creatures that came forth from the ark!!
True to the faithfulness of his character, Noah’s first project when his feet touched the earth again was the building of an altar where he could offer a sacrifice to his heavenly Father. What a sacrifice that would have been! With such a small flock of animals to replenish the earth it might have seemed to some people a huge risk to offer some as a sacrifice.
Personal sacrifice is quite contrary to the carnal nature that is common to all men, but it helps us keep our focus on who God is and who we are. The Apostle Paul’s counsel on the matter is this: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1, 2

Be grateful for a brand new start and say thank you to God by lifting someone else’s burden. It is a really restorative exercise for the soul!
Have a great day!
