As I ponder Genesis 1:6-8 I find it interesting that God set aside the second day of creation week to create the atmosphere. But when I stop to think about that a little, the atmosphere is pretty important if the living creatures you have in mind to inhabit this amazing zoo that is our earth, are going to survive and thrive!  Surely our God is a God of order not confusion. That encourages me this morning!

Did you ever walk through a botanical garden and stop to wonder where all the wonderfully intricate flowers and trees had their beginning?  And how it is that they continue to produce seeds that carry on their species for you to wonder over, just as your great, great, great, great grandparents did?

If you open up your Bible and read Genesis chapter 1 verses 9-13 you’ll find the answer.

As more and more bright minds become convinced of “intelligent design” the Christian is just glad that the Bible holds the answers to their ponderings!

So who is the great Designer behind the wonders we see?  Here again the Bible leads us from ignorance to a glorious understanding.  In John chapter 1 we find that Jesus is the active agent of the Creative team.  There is says: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3 ALL THINGS were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (verse 14 explains who “the word” is – the One who came and dwelt among us).

That would be my wonderful Saviour; Jesus! Not only did He create this home of ours called planet earth, but when it had become toxic because of the entrance of sin, He came and died to redeem us.  He also promised to make it perfect again some day.  Through His grace, I plan to be there when that happens, how about you?  Have a great day!
